Joseph Quintana Tribe: (Kewa)
Mr. Quintana joined United American Indian Involvement, Inc. (UAII) the largest non-profit human and health service provider for American Indians/ Alaskan Natives in the City/ County of Los Angeles, in the fall of 2015 to lead the organization’s new development projects. During this period of time, the organization’s budget has almost doubled. Mr. Quintana’s work has improved the health outcomes of community members and ensured that education and training will increase the economic health and opportunity of Native people in Southern California. For over 17 years, Mr. Quintana has served Indian Country working on 3 Native Nations: the Navajo Nation, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, and his own, Kewa Pueblo before returning to Los Angeles. Joseph plans on continuing to address the needs of the American Indian community as an appointee of L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti to the Los Angeles City/ County Native American Indian Commission. Joseph continues to work with partners on advocacy efforts pertaining to economics, policy development, housing, health care access, racial justice and equity.
